My husband and I did the 2 night cruise on 6th May.
We loved our room (garden terrace) we were right at the front of the ship so it was amazing to sit out on the deck while the ship was sailing through the limestones.
The cruise is well organised and professional, there is a well-run programme day and night from kayaking, swimming, cycling, bamboo boat sailing, eating (a lot!), happy hour, fishing at night and even a movie room.
Definitely recommend the 2 night trip as you get to go to Cat Ba island and do some cycling and see some locals, and enjoy some chill time on the top deck as you sail to Cat Ba.
We even saw a langur monkey which was amazing as these are highly endangered.
Food- portions are huge and a good buffet selection. No issues with the food.
Staff were professional and friendly- the waiters and bar staff were very good. We had Lucky as our ship manager and also another lady who were professional. We spent the most time with Jimmy as he took us to Cat Ba island and kayaking in a remote area with a nice little beach (and incredibly there were only 6 of us on the tour!). The day trip felt personal and Jimmy was very professional, and managed to give us lots of information. He even helped cycle my husband back to the port when my husband’s chain came off his bike right at the end.
In summary, we can’t recommend Era more highly. I have friends that have visited ha long bay and been disappointed at how ‘touristy’ it feels with boats everywhere. I think Era Cruises take a much quieter route with Lan Ha Bay and it did not feel touristy at all. It might be a bit more expensive than some others but ultimately you get what you pay for and this was a once in a lifetime tour for us. Thank you! We will not forget this trip.
Thanh, Jimmy and team were absolutely fabulous, the cruise ship immaculate and the food and drink beyond expectations. We felt extremely well looked after and highly recommend the 3 day 2 nights option.
