People can get to Halong bay by:

1. Private A/C car, drive time 3 hours o­ne way, cost US$45/person (2d/1n program) or US$55/person (3d/2n program) for round trip Hanoi - Halong - Hanoi.

2. Shuttle bus (A/C), drive time 3 hours o­ne way, cost US$35/person (for both 2d/1n and 3d/2n program) for round trip Hanoi - Halong - Hanoi.

3. Limousine car, drive time 3 hours, cost US$240 o­ne way/trip.

4. By public bus, 4-6 hours pending o­n how many stops en route the drive would make to pick up/drop off passengers. Fare around US$5.

5. By train, people take cargo train from Hanoi to YenVien and then to QuangNinh. The terminal is about 50km away from the habor. Expect train delay, cancellation without notice. Available hard sleeper o­nly.

6. Helicopter, flight time 1 hour, cost US$210. Available o­nly o­n Saturday.
